The Art of Vaping

There are basically three different types of people who vape or smoke e-cigarettes. The first type is the casual smoker or vaper, who does it strictly for fun while being around friends. These people are not addicted to vaping since they are doing it strictly for entertainment purposes. The second type of vaper is the one who is trying to quit regular cigarettes and will do it more frequently compared to the casual one. The third type is the one who is into vaping for vaping sake. They were never into regular cigarettes. However, just as a smoker is addicted to regular cigarettes, serious vapers are addicted to it also. You could say that vaping is the new smoking.

The reason why this distinction is important is because of the products that are available in the market today. Great products you can get your hands on to look at are Air Factory and Vapetasia brands. Gone are the days when e-cigs were simple contraptions made to look like regular cigarettes. These days, the art of vaping has grown to become a full-fledged industry of its own. There are many different types of e-cigs and there are even more different types of e liquid or e juice that caters to just about every type of vaper, on the market.

What is an e-cigarette?

It all starts with the e-cig. This is the contraption that you need to get before you can have a serious conversation about vaping. On one end of the spectrum there is the basic or “bare bone” models which are quite cheap to buy. It will consist of a rechargeable battery, reservoir, coil, wick and charging chord. The total size will only be a little bigger than a regular cigarette. Once you buy one, it will last perhaps a year and when it stops working you simply throw it away and get a new one. On the other end of the spectrum, there are the expensive e-cigs that come with a bigger and better battery as well as a bigger reservoir. These types can come in all types of shapes, colors, designs and sizes.

Next, we come to the coil. The coil is the contraption that heats up the vape juice and turns it into vapor. Coils are rated according to power which is ohms. Most coils will be between 1.5 and 3 ohms. Usually, the higher power coils will be used with e-cigs with larger batteries. However, there is a whole other category of coils that fall below this power range, usually below 1 ohms. These are called sub-ohm coils and when you vape while using them it is called sub-ohm vaping.

The reason why sub-ohm vaping is popular is that it produces a lot more steam. However, there is still a debate whether this kind of vaping is a good idea or not. This is because sub-ohm coils burn at a higher temperature. Not only that, these types of coils have a tendency to overheat the battery. The best thing to do is talk to a salesperson and see what combination of coils and batteries are the best. As with most products, the better and safer products are almost always the more expensive ones.

Fill it up with Vape Juice
As mentioned before, there are recreational vapers and those who are addicted to vaping. This is what differentiates the different types e-liquid. For recreational users, the choice is going to be non-nicotine fluids. These fluids will come with a signature or generic flavoring agent. A signature fluid will be something a specific e juice maker puts together at the factory and will be given exotic names like “hawaiian pog” “”killer kustard” and “air factory blue razz” etc. Generic flavors can be as simple as cinnamon, coffee, vanilla or even banana. Generic flavored vape juice can be made at the vape store itself, by one of their sales people called “vapeologist”.

Next, we come to nicotine levels. For those of you who are vaping to get a “kick” then you will need to get e liquid with nicotine. Factory made liquid will come with a set amount of nicotine. It could be anywhere from 1 mg to 30 mg. Deciding on strength will depend entirely on your tolerance level. Generally, for those who have been smoking a pack of cigarettes/day 12 mg is recommended.
